Rosalinde Haas offers an almost transparent rendering of J.S. Bach's Musikalisches Opfer. The Ricercare in 3 and 6 voices are played on her Sperrhake Pedal Harpsichord, whereas the "Canon perpetuus super thema regium" and the "Fuga epidiapente" are played on her Klais organ at home.
The disc also features a recording of Bach's "Chromatische Fantasie und Fuge" interpreted on the pedal harpsichord.
Rosalinde Haas' interpretation of the coda of Bach's Chromatische Fantasie pays reference to psalm 137: think of "By the rivers of Babylon we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willow trees... when listening to the last minute of the Fantasia...
